Allan started full time public safety service in 1985 as a career firefighter in Hendersonville, NC. In 2005 Allan attended Basic Law Enforcement Training at Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College where he earned his Basic Law Enforcement Certification. In 2007 Allan was hired as a full time patrol deputy at Henderson County Sheriffs Office. Allan has worked in several areas inside the Sheriffs Office, including Patrol Division, the Traffic Team and Criminal Investigations. He attended the NC Highway Patrol Motor Officer Certification program in 2008. He currently serves as a supervisor for the Transportation Unit.
