In 2005 Ofc. Bramley moved to Wilmington from Apex, NC to attend the University at North Carolina Wilmington. In 2007 he joined the Wilmington Police Department as a Cadet, which is a part time position that allows full time students to get experience with the department while completing their college education. After obtaining his bachelor's degree he attended Basic Law Enforcement Training and became a full time sworn member of the department. During his time with the police department, he has worked in both the Northwest, and Southeast Patrol Division, as well as the Special Operations Division.
In 2018 he transferred to the Traffic Unit where he attended the Northwestern University 80-hr Motor Officer certification. He is certified in Radar and LIDAR operations, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement, Traffic Crash Reconstruction with additional training in Motorcycle and Pedestrian Reconstruction. He also holds certifications as a Drug Recognition Expert Instructor (DRE), General Instructor, Field Training Officer, and is a Standardized Field Sobriety Instructor. He is also a certified Police Motorcycle Instructor.
