Sgt. Scott Pruett

Sergeant Pruett has been an Officer with the City of Asheville since 1992 and served as a supervisor in the Traffic Safety / Motor Unit.
Sergeant Pruett grew up riding an assortment of dirt bikes and has been riding street motors since 1988.
Sergeant Pruett often patrolled Asheville's streets and highways on one of the department's 2017 Harley Davidson Electra Glides. In addition to BikeSafe class, Sgt. Pruett is the Lead Driving Instructor for the AB Tech BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training) Program. In addition to that Sgt. Pruett provides annual training to the United States Secret Service Uniformed Motor Unit that is based out of Washington D.C.
Sergeant Pruett retired from Asheville Police in 2021 but has since returned working in a "part time" capacity within the Logistics Division of the agency. This affords him the ability to stay very active with the motors, training and the BikeSafe program.
