Sgt. Josh Burnett
I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and have lived here my entire life. I have been riding motorcycles since 2003 and previously rode dirt bikes as a child.
I started working with MEDIC in 2003 as an EMT-Basic and quickly moved up to become a Paramedic, Crew Chief, FTO, and SWAT Medic.
In 2016 I became a Police Officer with Matthews Police Department. Since starting my career there I have moved from Patrol to a Traffic Enforcement Unit which also encompasses our Motor Unit. I became a certified Motor Officer in 2019. I am certified in Radar and LIDAR operations. I am also certified in SFST, ARIDE and a DRE (Drug Recognition Expert). In 2018 I became a member of the departments Regional S.R.T. (SWAT) Team. In addition to these trainings and certifications, I still maintain an active Paramedic certification to this day.
