Sergeant Altizer joined the Greensboro Police Department in 1998 after being honorably discharged from the US Navy. Sergeant Altizer he has been riding motorcycles since childhood and obtained his motorcycle endorsement in 1999. During his career, he has served ten years as a member of the Greensboro Police Department's Special Response Team and has spent the majority of his time with the department as a narcotics officer. Sergeant Altizer was assigned to the Greensboro Police Department's Special Operations Division in 2016 as the Supervisor of the Motor Unit. He has been awarded two Medals of Valor by the Greensboro Police Department for actions while on duty during critical incidents. He serves as a specialized firearms instructor for the Department.
